heavy flow

Since a few of you out there are shouting for an update about university, well, here's an interesting one. It might be that our university is located there at the bare land which was once a palm plantation, and therefore leave us baking under the sun for the first half of the day. Perhaps it's the raining season as it seems to be pouring cats and dogs ( or should I say goats and cows?) and I really mean serious heavy rain! As expected, the downpour happened again just yesterday and flooded part of the winding road (the only way in and out) which connects the campus to the main road. We were told the water level raised to about knee's length and made it impossible for the bunch of us to go home.

Fortunately and thanks to the rain, we had a chance to see our university glow in the night with brilliant lights and it was impeccable. We went for dinner at Broga and had quite an enjoyable meal. The road was unbelievably dark and we were so frightened that we might meet a 'friendly' spirit. Gulp! Our driver was totally freaked out and we almost met with an accident with the surrounding trees. In order to calm our souls and to take our minds off death, we blasted the radio with Jay Chou's all-time favourite. Mind you, the guys' singing was unbearable.

Since I am now typing this out, needless to say we made it back safe. So we galloped along to the SA building and played foosball. We were having too much fun and over-excitement resulted inconsideration. At that moment there were serious harcore studious crowd. One of them, our course-mate, lost control of himself and came at us with a raised snooker stick. His face had anger written all over him and I thought he might hit one of us girls. In that split second his senses came back and realised what he was doing and pasted a smile on his face as a cover-up. Lucky for us!

We understood that we were a nuisance and decided to leave. Later we were told it was safe to cross the pile of water and we headed home. We left the place at about 9 pm and was again terrified to drive in pitch black. 3 cars and were driving ever so slowly and obedient, back to back.

I really had fun and just one experience like that will not suffice. Fingers crossed, I hope we'll get stranded again!
